University of Portsmouth Graduate Scholarships, 2021

The University of Portsmouth Section is pleased to offer Postgraduate Scholarships open exclusively to Ghanaian and Nigerian students in the specialties defined below at the University of Portsmouth.

Scholarship winners will receive a benefit of 20% off the tuition discount.

The Faculty of Science offers a number of scholarships for Ghanaian and Nigerian students who have applied for one of the following full-time Postgraduate Master's classes : Geological Engineering, Criminal Justic Scholarships, Geological and Environmental Hazards, Environmental Geology and Pollution, Crisis and Disaster Management, Systems of geographic information and management of coastal and marine resources.

University of Portsmouth Graduate Scholarships

Eligibility

The following criteria must be met for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

The scholarship is open to all Nigerian applicants who have a minimum 3.0 / 5 GPA (which is a lower second-class level) in a relevant subject.

It is also open to all applicants from Ghana who have a minimum of a Second Superior Class in a relevant subject. You can request to be considered if:

• It is completely self-financed
• Have Ghanaian or Nigerian nationality
• I applied, was offered and accepted a place in the chosen program.
• Meet the academic conditions detailed above and meet the financial conditions, including the payment of a non-refundable deposit.

Level / field of study

The scholarship is designed for students who wish to pursue a postgraduate degree in one of the following fields engineering , geological, geological and environmental hazards, environmental geology and pollution, crisis and disaster management, geographic information systems, and marine and coastal resource management .

Host nationality

The scholarship is located at the University of Portsmouth, UK.

The scholarship is open to Ghanaian and Nigerian students.

Scholarship Vale

The scholarship covers 20% of the tuition reduction. The award cannot be taken in conjunction with any other fee reduction or scholarship offered by the University. 

The scholarship is a one-time award for the fee of a one-year course and is not renewable and is only valid for the study of the courses mentioned above.

The number of vacancies for the scholarship is not specified.

Application procedure

There is no application form to complete. All applicants will be automatically considered for the award based on the quality of their application form (including personal statement and academic qualifications).

Deadline for application

The terms of the scholarships are as follows:

• Applications are open from May 15 to June 15 annually .

Applications submitted before each of these deadlines will be automatically considered in each respective round. 

Successful candidates will be informed within two weeks of the deadline and then must accept the award and pay the tuition deposit to obtain the scholarship.
